In the midst of all the chaos that has blighted Malaysia these past few weeks; with the cabinet reshuffle which includes the sacking of the Deputy Prime Minister, the raidi of MACC office and arrest of several 1MDB investigators, as well as the detention of Malaysian citizens who were lawfully exercising their fundamental liberties, there has been a deafening silence from UMNO youth leader Khairy Jamaluddin.
I find it hard to believe that Khairy has remained in absolute silence throughout this political whirlwind, with not a single statement being made over the various issues.
Najib and the new cabinet lineup has made known of their intention to put greater restriction on the people’s fundamental liberties because of 1MDB. There has also been a further destruction of our institutions of check and balance.
Therefore I call upon Khairy Jamaluddin to make a stand, whether he is with Najib Razak on the 1MDB issue or is he with other Malaysians including UMNO members who question this billion ringgit scandal.
